When your skin is exposed to the sun for a prolonged period of time, it starts turning red and irritated. This is a sunburn!
Sunburn is a problem that should always be avoided as it’s a sign of a serious ultraviolet injury to the skin, it also increases the risk of melanoma and leads to permanent phot-aging of the skin.

You are at more risk for sunburn than other if;
- You have a fair skin.
- You do not a sunscreen with enough SPF
- You work requires your skin to be exposed to the sun in the day.

Ways In Which You Can Effectively Tackle Sunburn:
Avoiding something that actually caused the sunburn in the first place is the number 1 step. As already stated, a sunburn is a UV injury, completely avoiding direct or even indirect sunlight is a good idea to make sure that the healing process is smooth. This is extremely important, the more water you drink, the more hydrated your body will be. This too will speed up the healing process. Also. Your urine color being light is an indication that you are having enough water, in case it is not light, then have more water.

One easy way to prevent sunburn is by wearing a sunscreen with enough SPF. Sunscreen comes in various forms such as lotions, sprays, creams and even powders. Pick one that suits your skin the most and then apply it regularly as per routine.
Apart from the use of a sunscreen, there are other lifestyle changes too that can be applied to avoid sunburn.
- Don’t go in the sun from 10am to 4PM as during this time the UV rays are the strongest.
- Look for shade in case you must go out, shaded areas always get less UV radiation.
- Wear a hat or use an umbrella in case you must walk in the sun.
